Lubitel Lovers Workshop @ Lomography Gallery Store San Francisco

Lomo Veterans and Analog Newbies alike gather to get intimate with our beloved Lubitel 166+!

Continuing the course of regular events and workshops at our new Lomography Gallery Store in San Francisco, this weekend we offered our first Lubitel Lovers Workshop!

Veteran Lomographers, shop regulars and even some walk-ins assembled for an intimate look at one of our most beloved cameras… The Lubitel 166+! We discussed the rich history of the camera and its lineage, then got right into the best part… Learning to shoot!

Each attendee with a Lubitel in hand, our group took a short trip over to a local park, the Yerba Buena Gardens! Our photographers had a blast shooting local art and architecture including the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Waterfall, the San Francisco MoMA, the Metreon, the Contemporary Jewish Museum, and St. Patrick Church. The sunshine brought out large crowd; Sunbathers, picnickers, and tourists alike were loving the unseasonably warm weather!

We’re sure to have gotten some great shots; Our expert shooters learned a few new tips and tricks and experimented with sprocket photography; Our newbies learned the ins and outs of shooting with a versatile and capable TLR; More than a few went home with new cameras that day!

We’ve got many more workshops coming, so please continue to join us for our events! We’d love to see your shining faces! And, of course, we’d be happy to teach you about our cameras any time, so visit us at our brand new SF store!

Until next time, fellow Lomographers!

The Lubitel 166+ is a loving recreation of the Soviet-era classic. Based on a design that dates back over 60 years, this camera is updated with new features like the ability to shoot both 120 and 35mm film. Shoot mind-blowing images with the Lubitel 166+, available in our Online Shop.
