Series/Section: Influence or Coincidence? Series on Analogue Lifestyle

This month sees the kick off of a new set of articles, Influence and Coincidence, to be written by webo29. This new weekly series will focus on how very often, one thing reminds of something else and how, in this case, some photos on recall those of well established, world class photographers. Hence the title.

Is it all done in full consciousness and admiration? Or are both photographers oblivious of the existence of the other? We’ll find out soon enough.

This is how it works: Fabrizio will start off each article by delving into the photos of a top-notch photographer. He will explore style and subject matter whilst simultaneously hunting for parallels in the homes of hundreds of lomographers.

Will he succeed? Do the equivalents he proposes match the originals at all? Let’s just hope the chosen lomographers are flattered. Or else he’s in trouble.

First off is German photographer Candida Höfer. Do your photos have anything in common with hers? Sit tight and find out who Fabrizio thinks came very, very close to the master.

Mirror, mirror on the wall. Who’s the closest of them all?
