Most of us have heard of IKEA, the huge Swedish furniture store. Usually it is connected with reasonable prices and modern design, so how in the world did Lomography fit into this? Read on to find out!
A few days ago, the new 2012 IKEA catalogue came out in Germany as an iPad app. It is very nicely designed, has all that one expects from an iPad magazine app and is all technological and pretty far from analogue.
However, my eyes were stuck at page 18 of 219.
Are you taking a closer look?
I’m not good at identifying all of these, I just know there’s a Polaroid on the bottom shelf and a box camera, looking an awful lot like an Agfa or a Kodak Brownie on the top shelf. However, to the left of the shelf, there are a few frames shot on Polaroid 600.
Isn’t that absolutely cool, that a mega-store like Ikea featured film cameras in its 2012 catalogue? Absolutely fantastic, I say. I only wonder if they sell these cameras at any Ikea store too!
So even if this isn’t quite Lomography, it sure as hell is analogue!
Whoever wants to see it with their own eyes, go ahead and check out the new 2012 stuff!
