LomoKino: Action!

The new Lomography camera has given movement to 35mm film. A couple of months ago, the revolution came back to the analog world. This time as a magic box, the LomoKino, is an analog camera that makes more than 144 frames in 30 seconds of passionate cinema.

When the counter was set to zero, Lomography showed us the new mysterious product, the LomoKino. Inmediatly my mind began to imagine the movies that I could make. At last. I enjoy an analog camera that can shoot movies, away from the expensive Super 8 and with great ease to scan. Also, the price is affordable at 65 Euros for the LomoKino only, and 89 Euros when coupled with the LomoKinoscope. I ordered the package on that same day.

Summer House

The LomoKino is an analog video camera load with 35mm film, works rotate the crank, and a roll of 36 exposures can capture up to 144 frames. You can use any kind of 35mm film, no matter if you’re a redscale lover, black and white film passionate, or cross processing crazy guy. Also, you can always reload the movie and make double exposures.

Okay, you’re not able to make high quality movies, you can pretend to be Woody Allen or David Fincher, but I think the films can’t be imitated in a film. Wait! That’s not bad. The LomoKino is a good weapon to experiment with; David Lynch sure is dying to have one. My solution: black and white record.

A workshop in Madrid

You can choose apertures between f5.6 and f11, you can choose the rate at which frames pass, and you can use any type of 35mm film. Of course, it also has a great packaging and intuitive use. The most important thing: hours and hours of fun, whether alone or with friends, in the mountains, at the beach, on the streets, or at home. The LomoKino also supports flash, although you’ll need one that loads fast, but as with any film, a set is best done with a good focus.

This camera lacks a strap or a case. It’s a pity not to hang from the neck when you’re going from one to other location. Moreover, the viewfinder isn’t very useful because it’s too high and you may end up focusing on where you shouldn’t.

The teaser for “Summer House” is the premise of something bigger. But shhhh! It’s a secret!
An unexpected ending, the result of the workshop “Surprise! Surprise!” in Madrid.

Enter a new analogue dimension with the LomoKino. Lomography’s own 35mm analogue movie camera allows you to capture action and immortalize your story on film! Shoot 144 frames on any 35mm film and create your own cinematic masterpieces. Want to watch your movie the old-school way? We also offer the LomoKino and LomoKinoscope package!
