Five Things on My 2012 Analogue Bucket List

I had many plans for the previous year, but I never got around to doing them due to my laziness. So, I made a list of all things analogue I plan to do this year. Read on to find out if our bucket lists have something in common.

The year 2011 was one full of changes and dreams that remained as dreams. One example of that is when I planned to make my own matchbox pinhole camera and modify my ever trusty Vivitar UWS, but I never got around to doing them due to my laziness. But it’s never too late to change, right? This year, I promise I will now stick to my word and do things as I planned.

1. Take more photos.

The world is a beautiful place and everything could be a great and interesting subject. There are a lot of wonderful things to take pictures of so I shouldn’t waste my time just passing by them everyday. I need to take my camera out and snap, snap, snap!

2. Participate in more Lomowalks.

Lomowalks are a great way to shoot photos and at the same time, to meet people with the same interest as me. It’s always exciting to learn new things from my co-lomographers so I hope to spend more time with them.

3. Explore and experiment.

DIY here, DIY there. I’d love to try creating stuff myself so I’m putting this up on my bucket list! I might start with creating my own matchbox pinhole camera or redscaling more 35mm films or transforming my point and shoot camera to a Lomo LC-A (wait, that kind of seems impossible, hahaha!).

4. Use more cameras.

Recently, I found a panoramic camera in my grandmother’s house. When I tested the shutter it clicked like it was still in good condition so I plan to run a test roll in it and who knows maybe it’s still really working! I’ll get my fingers crossed for that. I also plan to buy a Fisheye no. 2 and a Diana Mini. I promised myself I’d buy a Fisheye no. 2 before 2012 but my budget didn’t allow me as I’m still a student a.k.a. jobless. I hope I get to save for those scrumptious cameras because I really, really want them! Shooting with a 170-degree wide-angle camera and one where you could switch medium frame to half frame is just amazing!

5. Join a photography exhibit.

I know I’m still a novice when it comes to Lomography so I definitely need to get out of my shell to fulfill this dream. I may not have a lot of cameras to experiment with but I don’t think that’s a hindrance for me to try to get better at what I love doing and to join a photography exhibit. I just need to make the most out of the few cameras I own and mix my personal touch of creativeness with it and I’m good to go. Hopefully I get to participate in a photography exhibit before this year ends, or at least, before I wither with age.
