Traveling down to Melacca again with my mom for Christmas and settling down at this guesthouse named Groven Travellers’ Home & Guesthouse, a place decorated in traditional Chinese-Melaccan style, perfect for travellers who are looking for some authentic places to stay.
It is is located at Jalan Parameswara in the area of Bandar Hilir, near the Porta de Santiago old fort, St. Paul’s Church, Mahkota Parade, and Dataran Pahlawan. It is within walking distance to most of the sights. Attractions like Porta de Santiago Fort, St. Paul’s Church, and Dataran Pahlawan Megamall are a 5-minute walking distance from the guesthouse. It only takes another 10 minutes of walking to reach Jonker’s Street and Portuguese Square.
The guesthouse is decorated in traditional Chinese-Melaccan style, perfect for travellers who are looking for some authentic places to stay in. There are eleven rooms and three room types in the guesthouse. The rooms are not equipped with air conditioners but with the high ceilings, it is still quite windy at night. Four shared bathrooms and a kitchen are provided. There is a barbecue area and a dining table provided as well. Guests can even rent a bicycle from the guesthouse to travel around the town of Melacca.
