Trying Out the Lomography Color Negative 400 120 Film

As a Christmas gift to myself, I purchased my first medium format film camera, a Diana F+ CMYK. The Lomography Color Negative 400 120 film was the very first film I used with my Diana F+ and I was absolutely happy with the results! It’s the perfect film for different lighting conditions.

Outdoors, Sunny:
This film worked great on outdoor sunny days. The photos came out very clear and the colors were vivid. Photos shot with a Normal setting.

Outdoor, Cloudy:
On cloudy days, the photos had a dreamy effect to it and some photos even appeared grainy (in a positive way.) This gave the photos a vintage and nostalgic feel. Photos shot with a Normal setting.

Outdoors, Night:
This film works well with night shots. The roll I used for this had light leaks in it which added to the artistry of the photos. Photos shot with the shutter set to Bulb.

Indoors, Portraits:
The indoor shots did not disappoint as well. I used a flash for the portrait shots and I was pleased with the results. The film absorbed the lights from the colored gel flash wonderfully too.

In sum, the Lomography Color Negative 400 120 works well for most lighting situations. I was pleased with the results of all 3 rolls and I recommend this for first time Diana F+ users (just like me!) I still have yet to try other films but this film has surely met my expectations on shooting with a 120 camera.

The Lomography Color Negative 120 400 film delivers vibrant colours and superb saturation and contrast. You don’t have to worry while you’re shooting, even under low lighting conditions. See our selection of Lomography films here.
