Since we are couple of days into the new year, I think I should look back and reflect on my Lomo adventures in 2011. My heart often made the most decisions here and I decided to call them the “Analogue Heartbeats” (AH).
AH #1: Getting Creative
The Lomography Competitions in 2011 saw a new direction where the judges are looking beyond still pictures. This is really exciting for me as i’m a visual person and I hope for more heart-stopping challenges to come in 2012.
AH #2: Visiting Russia
Going back to the birthplace of the Lomo LC-A was a dream come through for me! Although the trip caused a hole in my pocket, the journey and the Lomo adventures are priceless and shall remain a special place in my analogue heart.
AH #3: Visiting Lomo HQ, Vienna
I had to visit the Heart of where Lomography begins and after Russia, it was obvious that I should continue my exploration and get connected with Vienna too.
AH #4: Film Swap Exhibition
I was lucky that the Lomo community in Singapore was supportive of this exhibition! Also, not forgetting the counterparts from Lomography Russia. It’s the event where the Lomo Hearts in Russia and Singapore meet.
AH #5: A Lomo Store in our shore!
What can I say! I have been longing for Lomography to set up a store here and it materialised in December in the heart of my own shore! I “Heart” Singapore Lomography Gallery store!
AH #6: Self-portraits
I was always wearing a mask in the beginning and now my “analog heartbeat” tells me to abandon the mask and see the world with my naked face. Okay, maybe with spiral glasses sometimes.
AH #7: My Analogue Heart beats on…
I don’t want to know what will happen in the new year but my heart will take me “there.”
Where? Let’s all meet “there!”
Happy Lomograph-Taking in 2012!
