We continue our discovery of Singapore, this time we explored a large and fascinating hinterland, which is the Kranji Countryside Farm!
How to get there?
Hop on the Kranji Express at Kranji MRT station and let the friendly van driver take you to each attraction at Kranji Countryside Farm! Take note of the schedule
When to go there?
When you crave for some nature retreat. It’s also best to visit from 9am, when the sun is not too hot.
Cost per person:
$3 – Kranji Express (transportation)
$15 – Organic Lunch at Bollywood Veggies
$10 – To purchase some fresh veggies, aloe vera drinks, or goat milk
What’s so great about this location?
1. Aero-Green Farm
Aero-Green is the first commercial aeroponics farm in Asia to adapt the aeroponics technology to grow vegetables in Singapore. Although we didn’t see any technology about aeroponics, we still enjoyed seeing the flower, melon, and dragon fruit farms, as well as having the honey aloe vera drink!
2. Max Koi Farm
Then we just popped by the Koi Farm and took some shots.
3. Bollywood Veggie
Perhaps one of the most impressive farms that we had visited. The farm is well taken care of and the decoration makes you feel like making friends with the plants. A must-try is their organic lunch. There was a surprise set lunch that you don’t know what you will be served with.
4. Hay Diaries
Hay Dairies is a small goat farm, with about 800 goats of mixed breed, producing milk for sale. The farm uses the latest milking, pasteurising, homogenising, and bottling machines to produce very fresh goat’s milk, which it sells directly to customers.
5. Jurong Frog Farm
Jurong Frog Farm is the only frog breeder in Singapore and a member of the Kranji Countryside Association. Go and experience being surrounded by thousands of fat, gleaming bullfrogs, croaking a melody from their water-fountained vats.
Apart from these American Bullfrogs, they also have a wide selection of livestock like eels, turtles, and snakeheads. They also manufacture and carry products like Essence of Bullfrog with Ginseng and Cordyceps, American Bullfrog’s Frog Leg, Duncan Venison Meat, Snow Frog Jelly (Hashima) etc.
