Vgzalez and His Weapon of Choice, Lomography X-pro Chrome 100!

Still on the subject of cross-processing: after having experienced the highs and lows of these color reversal films and their varied behaviours when washed with C-41, Vgzalez here got a lot to say about his favourite roll of film and tells us why it is regularly loaded in his camera.

Why is this film your Weapon of Choice?
I love this film because you can fully rely on it. If you like x-pro (anybody doesn’t??) Lomo X-Pro Chrome will always yield amazing results under any circumstances.

On a sunny day, colors will come out saturated, vivid, citric and sparkling. Blues and reds turn strong and vibrant in a very unique way. Lomo X-Pro Chrome yields highly saturated images without that general color shift produced by other films when cross-processed, so your pictures will look citric but realistic. Even in interiors or poorly illuminated places, this film will always respond nicely despite its low ISO speed.

I had not the chance to give a try to the Agfa CT Precisa, but looking at the results, I think Lomo X-Pro Chrome is a nice replacement for that film. Another thing I like in this film is its price, because you can get a pack of three rolls by half the price of other slide films such as any Kodak Ektachrome.

Finally, I think that the LC-A+ or LC-Wide are the perfect companions to this film, as you can shoot from the hip whenever you feel the need for it, and get those amazingly saturated and vignetted images that inspired the beginnings of Lomography. Definitely, give it a try and you will not be disappointed. Since the first time I saw those colors, I always carry a few rolls in my bag.

If you were asked to choose between a Lomography Spinner 360 or a Lomography Horizon Camera, which one would you choose and why?

It’s a hard choice, because the Spinner allows you to be more creative, more experimental than the Horizon. But the Horizon produces more accurate, technically correct images, and sometimes you’re in the mood for it. Probably I’ll choose the Spinner as it is more “Don’t think, just shoot”.

It could be your favourite film emulsion, a cheap plastic toy camera or the most fun accessory you have and they are your Weapon of Choice! Want yours to be seen here next week? Then just drop us a line at and you’ll get to show everyone what your Lomo snaps are made of!

The Lomography X-Pro Chrome 100 35mm is a showstopper of a slide. When cross processed, this film intensifies hues and makes everything more vibrant and vivid. See our selection of Lomography films here.
