A great film with such a vivid and high contrast colour, Kodak Portra 400VC is a negative film which enables us to achieve photos just like a slide film process in E6 chemicals. It’s impressive and perfect for close up and portrait photos!
Kodak Portra 400VC is a high speed negative film. Although it is a color negative and high speed film, it can be classified as a exotic film as ability to achieve a great colour with such a fine grain. It is also one of the Kevin Meredith’s (lomokev) favourite film. After reading through his review about the Kodak Portra 400VC, I started to love it.
The first time I try to shoot with Kodak Portra 400VC was in medium format and the result was not so bad. Months passes by, I got a chance to shoot with a 35mm film. It was the best experience because I can shoot and feel the excitement of Kodak Portra 400VC in different lighting conditions.
The best thing about this film is that the tone, the contrast, and the saturation will never be compromised. Many great photographers love too shoot with this film. Undoubtedly, it can produce such beautiful portraits with a perfect tone and contrast. Below are some of my results using Lomo LC-A+ loaded with Kodak Portra 400 VC.
There are only 3 words to describe this film: PERFECT, AWESOME, and AMAZING. If you like to shoot fashion, portrait, or nature, this film is suitable for you.
