Trekking by in Warm Brazil - Extended Rumble

2009-04-15 8

Bring those sunglasses as the sun will scorch even hotter as Lomography is invading the culture-rich land of Brazil!

Brazil has been a cultural hub of sorts, and we’re bringing to you a bangin’ new outpost down south – and what more to start it off than with a special rumble? Tell us the story of Brazil with your fantastic, picturesque shots of the Brazilian federation and be rewarded generously!

Whether you’re getting that warm bronzed skin in the crystal clear beaches of Rio de Janeiro, dance to the impeccable beats of Samba or Bossa Nova, pampering your feet wearing those cult Brazilian flip flops, tasting those delectable cheese breads and other delicacies, kick off with hardcore Brazilian-style football or marvel at the sight of the Christ the Redeemer statue amongst other towering structures, help us build a great culture vulture Lomowall that celebrates the green-and-yellow flag bearing country’s warm people and culture!

Be sure to submit “outside the box” with this rumble. While beach pictures are popular please do not solely submit these!

  • Prize(s): 5 piggy points for selected images regardless of quantity
  • Film/Camera Type: Any analogue photo not digitally enhanced or manipulated
  • Upload Limit: Unlimited
  • Minimum Photo Dimensions: 1200×1800 pixels for standard landscape format / 1500×1500 for medium format
  • Previous rumble submissions can be entered again for this rumble.
  • The winner announcement will take a few months instead of the two-week ultimatum for this rumble.
  • By submitting your photos to this rumble, you allow Lomography.com to use your submitted photos for promotional purposes.

You can "think outside the box" and you can submit "outside the box" so not the typical beach pictures only :)

    Stalking the City: Ricardo Lozano

New York is an infinitely photographable city in spite—or because—of its innate chaos. And even when the medium is film, praised nowadays for the virtue of slowness, the photographer must keep up with the city’s pace. Ricardo Lozano, 35mm photographer and Lomography community member, managed to do it for the series OK Commuter, now a book by A Love Token Press.
