Actually, before choosing the LC-Wide, I hesitated for quite some time. Do I really need a camera with such wide-angled lens? But, after looking through a lot of wonderful photos, I’ve finally decided that this is the one!
LC-W and LC-A have a lot in common because of the similar weight and functions, so I do not have problem using it. To focus, you only have to choose between 0.4M~0.9M and 0.9M~infinity. This is very helpful especially to someone who is new to analogue cameras.
I like to focus at 0.4M~0.9M because it allows me to get closer to different people and cats! I enjoy that very short moment of interaction with them. I would be happy to say to them: “Come one! Say cheese!”, or “meow~ meow~, stand still lil’ kitty!”
And don’t forget, it is also a great experience to do self-portraits at this focusing range!
But of course, the focusing range at 0.9M~infinity should not be missed too. When you see a wide scenery or a panoramic view, it’s best to use this focusing range. It will capture the whole scenery or buildings you want. Sometimes, you can also use this feature to highlight you subjects.
And so you thought that’s it, but there’s more! Besides shooting full frames on 35mm films, you can also change to square frames or even half frames! What effects could it bring then? It’s up to all of us try it out!
The Lomo LC-Wide boasts the newly-developed 17mm Minigon Ultra-Wide Angle lens. This 35mm camera wonder is the perfect companion for your photo expeditions.
