Lomography and the Italian Institute of Photography launched one of the most exciting competitions ever, offering a grand prize scholarship worth 8000 Euros, and the opportunity to attend the Intensive Professional Photography Course at the Institute in Milan. Did you participate? Now is the time to meet the winner!
In the What does dreaming look like? competition, we asked you to take and show to us a photo inspired by a dream. Indeed, it’s something very personal and intimate, something that catapults us into space without coordinates, in an atmosphere without matter—just the way dreams are to us.
Needless to say, your participation has exceeded our expectations. Each of you, in your own way, did not only make us dream, but also made us feel confident that the scholarship (worth 8000 Euros) for the Intensive Professional Photography Course at the Italian Institute of Photography in Milan would go to a very deserving person.
But first, here you are the criteria that that the jury use to vote and choose our favorites:
• Presentation follows all the rules of the contest (analog photo, not digital post-production, written description of the interpretation of your dream, etc.)
• The photo expresses a dream (full description)
• Picture quality in terms of composition, idea and technique.
• Number of good proposals (quantitative and qualitative) per person.
Are you anxious to see who won the dream? Here is the winner:
But the surprises do not end here! Impressed by such a positive response and so many wonderful submissions, the Italian Institute of Photography has decided not to leave the second and third prize winners empty handed, but to reward them with a scholarship of 50% (equivalent to 4000 Euros). Think you are dreaming? Give yourself a pinch on the cheek, because it’s all true!
Here are the second and third place winners:
For the winners, the Italian Institute of Photography will contact you via your Lomography page to request additional details so that you can redeem your prizes.
We at Lomography look forward to following the progress of the competition winners (keep us updated). To all of our other participants, we would like to say: Never stop dreaming!
