Lush mountains as far as the eye can see…a roaring river below you – that is Ambuklao in Bokod, Benguet.
Is that some kind of strange, exotic cuisine? “No,” My father replied quite irritated. And without knowing about anything, we left the house in the wee hours of the morning with my trusty Diana F+ with a wide angle lens. And went on an adventure far more fun than I had ever expected from this seemingly boring place.
In only half an hour, the buildings of the city were gone and what replaced it were lush mountain sides and a roaring river down below, which you can take a refreshing dip in after having the sun beating down on you – this is probably the most delightful experience I have ever had.
Although there is something else that your eyes can feast on, and this is the Ambuklao Dam, which is quite beautiful really. Well as far as dams go. And you can feast your eyes on this huge river, which is made by this dam. (I took a panoramic shot of this.)
The people there are another thing. They were quite quiet but once they warmed up to you, they are really nice people. Heck, they were the ones who let us take a dip in their river. There are little shops there with food and snacks, so if you want to take a little break and munch on something they are there for you.
The Diana F+ is a new twist on the ‘60s classic cult camera. Famous for its dreamy and soft-focused images, the Diana F+ is now packed with extra features such as panorama and pinhole capabilities. Available in our Online Shop.
