Audrey Hepburn in Rome - A Tribute Exhibition in Support of UNICEF

Celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of Breakfast at Tiffany’s, the Ara Pacis Museum in Rome is hosting an exhibition of unpublished photos, videos and personal fashion items belonging to Audrey Hepburn: one of the most cherished icons of our time.

I think very few people can’t close their eyes and recreate the image of Audrey Hepburn smoking a cigarette used in the poster for Breakfast at Tiffany’s, or think of her on a scooter with the Colosseum in the background in Roman Holiday. But who knew Audrey was also a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador during the last years of her life?

Together with a selection of pictures from UNICEF Archives which document Audrey Hepburn’s missions among the children of Bangladesh, Vietnam, Somalia, Sudan, Ethiopia and Latin America, the Ara Pacis exhibition mainly features unpublished shots which capture Audrey during her everyday life in Rome. The images come to life as they are displayed alongside the same fashion creations by Givenchy, Valentino and many others featured in the photos.
