Stadthallenbad (Vienna)

Alright, so I like to swim. Actually I prefer doing it outside, but what do you wanna do in cold cold winter? RRRight, hitting the Stadthallenbad. It`s deadly cheap (2,50 day card for students) and also, like the Stadionbad in summer, an amazing Austrian socio-cultural frying pan.

The one thing I like particularly with public swimming places is, that all cultures and classes are inevitably mixed without any prejudices: we just look all damn stupid in those short wet tights. Anyway, if you’re breathless already OVER the surface, then I strongly recommend you to take a Frogeye camera with you and observe the species and huge bellies that go UNDER the surface. Watch out for little kids jumping on you and athletic guys hunting you, too. Take pics when the Bademeister is not watching. Put your face or other body parts onto the underwater swirls (at the edges of the pool) and capture the weird distortions. And if you still can take it, hit the public sauna for a
perfectly lomographic adventure day.
