Today’s creepy ghost photo takes us to another old church in England, where a ghostly figure in black was photographed in 1999. Who could be the eerie specter photographed standing inside the ancient church?
The photo above was taken inside Sefton Church in Merseyside, England sometime in September 1999. The church is an ancient structure which was built in 12th century and completed in the early 16th century. It’s not hard to imagine how something that old could have a history of spooky phenomena.
The snapshot above was also featured in a book authored by Brad Steiger in 2003, entitled “Real Ghosts, Restless Spirits, and Haunted Places.” According to the book, only a photographer and his companion were inside the church, and none of them remember ever seeing someone—ghost or otherwise—standing on the spot when this photograph was taken. It has been believed that the spectral figure is a former church minister because of its black attire. The blurred, ghostly figure in the photo remains unexplained to this day.
On an interesting side note, the Punch Bowl, a pub next to the church, was reported to be haunted by the ghost of a man wearing blue nautical attire, which has been seen there for several years. Who knows, maybe the ghost is not a former church minister, but the same ghost haunting the neighboring pub!
