5Pointz Gallery, NYC

Come visit a spray painter’s heaven just outside NYC.

Step on board the Number 7 Train and head to Court Square in Queens to access one of New York’s preeminent graffiti venues, 5Pointz (45-46 Davis St, Long Island City, NY).

5Pointz is a massive abandoned warehouse which has been covered in authorized graffiti. The checkered facade offers the perfect canvas for artists to display their skills on this massive urban canvas.

I went to 5Pointz on a weekend and when I arrived, there was a tour going on. I don’t know the details of the times for this but it was great opportunity to hear about the colorful history of the place. There was also an indoor gallery, however I did not check this out when I was there.

The site is commonly used for photo shoots and provides the perfect backdrop for busting out your Lomo cameras and the colors provide a feast for x-processed films.

And the best part is, it is free to walk around. Definitely worth a visit if you have some spare time and the MoMA PS1 gallery is over the road as well if you need an additional art fix.
