The Pier of Nice

The pier of Nice is one of my favorite place to shoot: a beautiful place, the sea, boats & ferries, people, well, a perfect place to make pictures! The pier of Nice is located at the entry of the port and is a fascinating place to have a walk, meet with friends, have some nice time to sit down to look at the sea and the boats…

The pier of Nice is located at the entry of the port and is a fascinating place to have a walk, meet with friends, have some nice time to sit down to look at the sea and the boats… I really love his place because it’s very different every time I go there: the entry of the big ferry coming from Corsica or leaving Nice, all the spectators who are coming to see the boats, the fishermen trying to catch something, seagulls flying in the air, lonely people or couples coming for sunbathing or having a little afternoon sleep at the sea… the light tower at the end of the pier is also a cool subject.

I could stay there a whole day because there are always so many situations to shoot. It’s a place where the color of the sky and the sea are melting together, where the clouds can have some great forms (because it’s a windy place… for the anecdote, the pier is located at the “Quai Rauba Capeu”, which means in nissart dialect “the hat stealer”, the wind can be very strong….), where the sun is always to seen, from the morning to the evening (that gives great changing shadows…)… and so many other things to enjoy there.

And even if the place seems very simple, this pier is a very inspiring place for me! :)))
