Say hello to one of our first LomoKino testers, the wonderful susielomovitz! Susie has already created some amazing movies and we can’t wait to see what else she comes up with in future – Read on to watch some of her cinematic shorts so far!
Name: Susie Lomovitz.
Please tell us a little about yourself…
I know it’s not very intellectual, but one of my favorite movies ever is Pretty Woman… I know, I know…I can’t help it.
How would you describe the LomoKino in 5 words?
Action. Movement. Silence. Expression. Half-minute.
What’s your favorite feature of the LomoKino and why?
I love the fact that you have to spin the crank fast while shooting. I think that makes you get very involved in the action. The other thing I like about this amazing camera is the pop up viewer, but I have to confess I don’t use it while filming – I just use it before shooting to have an idea of the composition but that’s it.
What LomoKino movie would you most like to shoot?
Sadly he is gone, but I would love to shoot a story “told” by Marcel Marceau.
If you could give the LomoKino to one other Director, who would it be?
Sofia Coppola for a small, beautiful and very aesthetic film. Steven Spielberg for a big budget fantasy film.
Do you have any advice for LomoKino newcomers?
Remember: half minute is a lot. Most of the advertisement spots we watch on TV are just 30 seconds long. Don’t limit yourself; one 35mm roll could tell a whole wonderful story.
