Instax Photos of My Favorite City in Spain: Barcelona

2011-10-05

Six days, two packs of Instax Mini film and one Fuji Cheki 50 camera to capture a glimpse of what this amazingly wonderful and beautiful city has to offer. From the train ride into the city to a stroll down La Rambla to the beautiful waterfront, and of course, seeing plenty of Gaudi’s works of art throughout the city!

On our first visit to Barcelona, deciding on what cameras and film to bring was something I contemplated on a lot but I ended up deciding that 2 packs of Instax Mini film should satisfy my urge of seeing instant snapshots of the trip before I actually develop my rolls from the Horizon and LC-A+. I read about this artsy, vibrant city but I never expected I’d fall this much in love! ♥♥♥

As we were exploring one of the city’s gathering places along La Rambla, we felt the hustle and bustle of the city but we also felt so much at home, exchanging pleasantries with all the folks, eating delicious seafood, and even taking some snapshots with Jack from the ‘Nightmare Before Christmas’, who just happened to be hanging out with a man painted as a gold statute, a cowboy, and a few more other theatrical characters along this famous avenue.

After feeling the energy of the city, we decided to relax a bit and hit the beach. Walking along the Mediterranean Sea was breathtaking! With the sand between my toes, it felt like I was at a spa with every step I took. While in the area, don’t miss the tram that takes you over the port where you can see the best views of the water from the sky!

And finally, a trip to Barcelona cannot be complete without visiting some of Gaudi’s creations! We stopped by La Pedrera, a residence building built in the early 1900s, which make for some surreal shots with the rooftop chimneys. We also took a stroll through Park Güell which looks like a fairytale park with elaborately designed entrances, all the beautiful mosaics, and a platform which shows you how amazing Barcelona really is!
