A couple of months back Lomographers teamed up with talented, new and upcoming artist, Alessi’s Ark, for a challenging project. She provided the music and Lomographers had to provide the images that would be used for her next video.
A couple of months back Lomography teamed up with talented and upcoming artist Alessi's Ark a folk singer from the UK. She gave us an exclusive to one of her newest songs “The Asteroids Collide.” The task at hand was for you to interpret the music and provide images that fit the music. In the callout close to 2500 images were uploaded (!)
It took a while for Alessi and her team to go through each and every one of the submissions, but we are happy to announce that the video is now ready for you to enjoy!
Here is what Alessi had to say:
““It is an honour that ‘The Asteroids Collide’ was used as a backdrop and theme for such beautiful photographs. Two thousand five hundred photos were submitted and it was almost impossible to choose my favourites – the song belongs to every one of those images! I feel very lucky to have been given this opportunity to share the music in this way. I hope it can continue to be a platform for listeners and their creativity. The overwhelming response from all the folks has been humbling.”
Congratulations to the following Lomographers that are featured in the video:
As a small thank you from Alessi, all featured Lomographers will receive her upcoming album in their mailbox. Please contact Lucas with the following information if you are a winner: email, telephone, name, address.
In addition to receiving a CD free of charge, it was also promised that one winner would be selected and awarded with a Diana + Deluxe Kit ! After some consideration, Alessi made up her mind and asked that elena506 be shipped this wonderful assortment of Diana + products
The Diana + camera is a lovely recreation of the 1960s camera that drew a cult following among photographers, amateurs and artists alike. A couple of years ago Lomography released a new and improved version, harnessing the design and soft focus features of the original plastic lens. The Diana+ also features several improvements and new features, such as the pinhole function and the endless panorama function. Looking for more analogue scene stealers?
