Cosmovitral and botanical garden

An amazing art nouveau structure built at the beginning of the XX century at the historical downtown of the Toluca city. Originally it was the “16 of September market”. In 1978 the artist Leopoldo Flores and some other local artists began the construction of a massive stained glass window (in fact one of the largest in the world, as far as I know). In the 80’s the building was reopened as the Cosmovitral and Botanical Garden.

Walking around the garden, between the flora and the foliage – I’m a total neophyte about botanical topics, but it seems you can find here some important specimens, the fountains and pounds it’s a great experience in it’s own, but doing it by the light filtered by the multicolored glasses it’s something to remember, something to think about.
The whole stained glass piece it’s about duality and antagonism in the universe, about the struggle, rebirth and destiny of humanity. This is the place to be for a lover of light, as all photographers are. I this series I double exposed the film with some chess pieces at my house.
