In Paris, it is possible to taste some of the best specialties from all over the world. At the Marais, when entering the “Comme a Lisbonne” pastry/coffee shop, you can taste one of the nicest flavors from Portugal by appreciating a “Pastel de Nata”. Very unlikely that one will be enough!
Paris serves as a hub for some of the best flavors in the world. A great perk for Parisians and visiting outsiders. As a Portuguese living in Paris, I confess that I love to find a bit of home in different corners in the city.
Comme a Lisbonne (in English, “as in Lisbon”) was one of my most recent discoveries while randomly biking around Paris in the Marais (at 37 rue du Roi de Sicile – nearest Métro Saint Paul).
As the name suggests, you immediately get the Lisbon vibe once inside. Feel free to speak Portuguese, or English or French. Savor the amazing “Pastel de Nata” with a coffee or with a Compal juice. These delicious cakes are an egg tart pastry. After trying them, it is almost impossible to avoid the urge to eat a second one or to take some home.
Here it is possible to find some other food products, from salt, lemon, olives, chocolate, and much more, all from Portugal.
Also, check out some decorations (as “the Barcelos Rooster” or the typical “andorinhas” (swallows birds). These different objects are perfect for an original gift.
