My College, My Adda

In Hindi, ‘adda’ is a noun, with the nominal form of the word meaning the location or nest of a group or community, usually someplace shady. The etymology can be traced to the original meaning of the word, which means the “perching spot or perch for birds”. Me and my friends refer to our college as our ‘adda’ – our ritual meeting place. Here are a few photos of my college taken with the lovely Diana Mini.

When I first got my Diana Mini I found no time to go out and shoot at all. College and other stuff kept me completely busy. So I did the next best thing & carried my Diana Mini with me to college every day. Almost everyone who saw it were completely fascinated by it and asked me a ton of questions. Needless to say, it was a complete hit.

Here are some photos of some places in my college, all taken with the Diana Mini (with Lomography Color Negative 400 film)

I go to St. Andrew’s College in Bombay.

The entrance.
The huge Mosaic of St. Andrew that you will see when you first enter my college.
The other side of the building near the volleyball court.
Outside the library.
Sign pointing to the auditorium. It’s very famous in Bombay & many plays/small concerts etc. are held there.
Milkshakes in our canteen, ‘Cafe Andre’.
The corner near the college also called Nobby’s informally because of a little shop/stall that sells sweets, cigarettes etc.

So this is my lovely little college. I am currently in my fourth year of studies and just one more to go. As much as I will be happy to be done with some of the stress, I will miss this place, the corridors, and the people so much.

The Diana Mini is the ultra-compact, petite version of the Diana F+. This camera takes soft-focused, lo-fi images in 35mm and allows you to change between half-format and square shots with a flick of a switch. Get your own Diana Mini now!
