Off Scene Ducks

About a month ago C and I went on a little trip to St. Louis, Missouri as a spur-of-the-moment getaway. I hadn't been to St. Louis since I was about five, but C has been there many times before. We decided that we wanted to check out the sights and attractions, since the city is known for having many museums, and one of the most fabulous city parks in the country. Forest Park is immense, and much of it covers the old St. Louis worlds fair grounds. There is a gigantic zoo, many old mansions, a history museum, a small conservatory, and several playing fields. The weather was a little cold still (March is really the worst weather) but it was fun to see so many hisorical things, including the famous Spirit of St Louis, Charles Lindberghs plane!

I believe you must have seen a reproduction of the Spirit of St Louis. When I last saw it, it was in the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D. C. which is where it is noted to be preserved. Of course this was a awhile ago and arrangements may have changed but I doubt it would have been given up.
