First Best Picture - only took 3 rolls..

I remember not knowing much about film photography when I got the Holga. I ordered some Ilford film to come with it, not knowing it would be black and white film.
Basically I did everything I heard was “right” with Holgas – I overexposed, double-exposed, triple exposed even, left the Holga on B setting.. Yaaaay for having ISO 400 B&W film to go with that.
My first rolls turned out to be not very good, to say the least. I had a few OK pictures, but nothing grand, nothing that made me excited about continuing to spend a lot of money on 120film and its development.
Until I got my 3rd roll of film back.
The following shot was taken on Ilford Delta 400 in a newly built mall in Frankfurt, Germany.
It’s an ice café on the first floor, with the picture taken from the second floor.
I have to say I love everything about it.
I love the grain, I love the texture of the film, I love the texture of the cardboard mask I used, I love the detail and contrast.
I simply love everything about this, and it remains one of my favourite black and white shots that I took.

Considering it is on one of the first rolls I ever shot, I do consider it my best picture of the time.
