    A little looks like infrared...

The large amount of noise gives this series of photographs a painting effect.
Think of the great masters of pointillism.

    Thank you

Yes, it dose have that infrared look about it. I intend to try this development on a fresh roll of HP5 to see if the results are similar or if he age of this film affected the results.

HP5 is quite grainy and this being an out of date film, it had the potential to be even more so. Also all of the information I found, said that Tetenal Paranol S is not the ideal developer for HP5, never the less that's what I had, so that's what I went with.
The resultant negatives do show quite pronounced grain. Once I had scanned the negatives, I put them into Lightroom. I keep my post processing fairly simple, just tweaking the exposure, brightness, contrast etc. But the greatest improvement as far as grain is concerned, was dropping the clarity to -85. Not only has this softened the grain but, it has given some of the images an almost ethereal look.
