My 1st best pic or how I fell in love with Holga

My 1st best pic from was from my 2nd or 3rd roll from my beloved holga. This pic is still my only lomograph with about 85 likes. It is my favorite pic of all time.

There are a lot of reasons why I love this pic so much. Its such a contrasting photo of Dubai. Most people have a hard time believing its Dubai, they have a image in their mind about this ultra modern city, with tallest skyscrapers, 7 star hotels & 10 lane highways. This is a pic of old town in Dubai called “Bastakiya” where one of the 1st settlers back from the time, when it was a small pearl diving village lived.

The narrow streets of Bastakiya have been the same for countless years. Nothing seems to have changed in this part of historic Dubai. This is one of my favorite places in the city. A short walk down the street you reach the famous Dubai Creek which used the lifeline of the city much before the oil. One can see the Abras (small fishing boats) still ferrying people from one side to the other.

I shot this with Illford Delta pro, my favorite film & its one of the 1st good pics which came out good from my Holga after a series of failures. Sometimes before you take a pic you know its going to perfect, this was one of those times. The light was perfect & the texture came out well. I know some of you might see nothing special about it, but for me its a was a turning point.

With so many likes, this pic is the most liked lomograph In Dubai & United Arab Emirates. Im very proud of it. I love this lomograph, hope you will love it too.
