Growing up in a tiny one stop-light town in Kansas grounded my view of America to appreciate the comfortable irony of the cyclical nature of small town life. I left and lived in Southern California for 20 years and dove into the diversity of the bigger world and explored with film, and the re-birth of instant film to capture the different wonders with all its imperfections. But 3 years ago I decided to simplify my own world and moved south of Portland, Oregon to the forest and surround myself with my wife, our animals and a new one stop-light town, and using new film emulsions, try to capture the beauty and comfortable ironies of the Pacific Northwest.
