My top ten (kneehigh style!)

The best thing about lomo, for me anyway, is not looking at all the great photos, but meeting great people and forming great friendships. These are my top ten people I have become friends with through lomography.
I have put these in alphabetical order because, well you can’t rank friends in order of favourites, can you!?!?!?!

1) coldkennels – Tony is someone I sort of met by accident. After arranging the York meeting in July, inviting all the people I knew to be fairly local, someone invited this tagalong! Tony is the most patient person I think I have ever met, and an excellent photography teacher. What that boy can do with a old Russian rangefinder and a roll of B&W just blows me away.

2) easilydistracted – Rhianne is a total lomo enthusiast, and a top UK blogger. I was lucky enough to meet Rhianne on the Manchester Lomo Roadshow (which was a bit surreal after reading through her blog, but fun at the same time). Her blog is and it tells tales of all her camera-collecting adventures. Rhianne, like me lives in Leeds so I have high hopes for a future meet-up. Rhianne is a bit of a Instax extraordinaire.

3) explorette – I met Andrea in real-life at the Manchester roadshow, although we had both been lurking in the shoutbox for a while together prior to that. We have also met up since and plan to do so again and again (I hope!). Andrea loves Lomo, some may even call her an addict. I, myself see her more as an inspiration!!! She is a LC-Wide fanatic of late, and man is it infectious!

4) fletchinski84 – Obviously I didn’t meet Dave through lomo, we were already engaged before we joined the site even. But lomo is now one of the things that keeps us together, it is our biggest common interest and the thing we have the most fun doing. I am always jealous of Dave’s ability to wander around Leeds and see things in a totally different way every single time.

5) kierajolly – Kiera is Assistant Manager of the Lomo store in Soho. I met her on the trip to Brighton in June, as she was our guide. Keira is lovely and warm and after spending a day with her I felt I had known her for years. What Keira lacks in facts about Brighton, she makes up for with lovely candid x-pro shots.

6) johnccc – John organised the lomo meet in Chester at Xmas last year and he is a great lomo enthusiast. He is super generous and ended up donating us a box of Polaroids after that first meeting. We have met since and get along great. I love how John and I have similar interests so his photos always entertain me lots.

7) louwest – I had worked with Louise in the same office for 12 months, but not had a lot of contact with her until the day she saw my LC-Wide delivery on my desk. It turned out we had a shared love of lomo and since then we have been on meetings, lent each other stuff and email about cameras all day. Louise has a great eye for candid and action shots.

8) nicolas_noir – Adam has always been a shoutbox lurker and I imagine that is where we first met. We first met met on the York trip and have socialised a fair bit since then (including with his 3 suer children). Adam is a genuinely lovely guy, and the little lomowalks he takes around Yorkshire really make me appreciate living in such a beautiful county.

9) rosieoutlook – Rosie was one of the chosen participants of the Lomography blogathon, and it was reading her beautiful and cheery blog over at inspired me to start one of my very own. We haven’t met in real life or anything but we often chat through our blogs, and I keep up to date with her daily life over on her blog. Also Rosie is an excellent photographer and some of her Diana shots blow me away.

10) westendted – I have never met Edgar in real life. He is the proprietor of West End Cameras in London (which I totally plan to visit when I am next down) – He is the most friendly and helpful shop manager ever and has rescued me from many a predicament with my photos. Some weeks I chat to him more than my own parents!

@mephisto19 - No i don't necessarily think the same ten will be mentioned, but I reckon the same 25 will come up over and over. That is why I thought I would do something different, and think outside of those 25! I know I wont win the rumble this way, but I like these ones the most.

thank you a lot for joining this competition!!! and why do you think you will not win? 3 blog writers will win and the top 3 mentioned also... :)

oh... and maybe you write down the 25 you think will be mentioned most - i really could not! would be interesting to compare afterwards...

@mephisto19 - well then I guess we will see. I just fancied being different. If I had to guess the 25 most mentioned (and I would be very suprised if the top 3 are not in here) off the top of my head, I would say:-

They are all great though so good luck to whoever they might be!
