week 11: imperfection³

i got another new camera – a concord 818 – which is a simple point-and-shoot camera. except for a built-in flash, there are no custom settings or fancy features. but hey, i got the camera for free, so no need to complain! ;)

i loaded a roll of expired kodak color film into the camera and shot some pictures – mainly on my way to work, because i didn’t really had the time for a proper lomowalk. once i finished the roll, i pulled the film out in complete darkness and reversed it, to expose the other side too. i have wanted to try this technique, where you make doubles by exposing both sides of the film – color and redscale – for quite a while now.

it turned out well on some pictures:

but on most of the photos you can hardly see the redscale part of the doubles:

well, i guess that’s what you get, when you don’t pay attention to include enough dark parts in the first layer…
however, it was just a test roll to see if the camera works and to make doubles by exposing both sides of the film all at once. so i didn’t expect too much anyway. but i certainly hope for better results next time!

here’s the album: imperfection³
