  • Southern Death (Philippines #5)

    shared by wil6ka on 2017-05-29

First ever experience in Manila was checking out the southern graveyard of Makati, the city quarter I was based at. There are a few peculiar things about this place. There are actually people living and working there as it is so big. But I have heard the northern one, is even more vivid (I saved this for my next trip). As space is limited in Manila there is the custom of putting the urnes or cofffins in long boxes. Basically a family buys the space in square meters and builts every new family member on top of the last one. When we entered the cemetery through a strange gate, two brothers started to acompany us, getting a break on repair works they were supposed to do. I asked a few questions and just observed them in their natural environment. And at one moment they started sitting on some graves. That was the moment I was waiting for and snapped...

  • Madonna of Batad (Philippines #3)

    shared by wil6ka on 2017-05-22

We walked down the rice terraces of Batad to the Tappiya Falls in Northern Luzon. Quite the hike up and down. And of exhaustion I fantasized about Madonna coming down to me...

  • Treasure Island (Philippines #4)

    shared by wil6ka on 2017-05-26

I don't go for the easy choices, but this makes every trip even more memorable. In Palawan I opted for the remote Nacpan beach to stay in a very cosy small hostel, off the beaten track. I was so rewarded with tootpick palms on the isolated twin beaches. And before I wanted to jump in the water I had to conserve the scene on film...

    shared by wil6ka on 2017-05-25

You can read in faces like in books, especially in Africa. So much life and joy in the lifes of the ones, who work and create in Uganda. Love to look at them and to capture their beauty in a single or multiple frame.
