I’ll admit, I"m a very amateur photographer. My digital photos are nothing but ok. I even put one in a local contest and didn’t get past round 2. What a blow to my photographic ego. I decided I was going to see if I can find some inspiration online.
I found a blog called Shutter Sisters. I did a lot of stuff since I found them. I tried different Photoshop ideas, digital framing, even having the focus and subject off center. However, it was their word of the month, “imperfection” that made me realize that there was an analogue world out there. The entry that was written on October 28, 2010 entitled “Perfectly Different” introduced me to a world of analogue and experimenting.
My first camera happened to be a Fisheye 2. The look of the camera as well as the photos caught my interesting. I wanted to take photos the same way. Sadly, I was used to my digital camera and learned really quick that I had to actually use the flash on this one. However, I fell in love with it and I carry it with me everywhere to this day.
Now, my experimenting deals with many types of film, different ISO, and even seeing how long I can keep the shutter open. My current experiment is with my Holga 120PC-3D and I left it go for four hours. I was happy I did it at night but I was upset that I forgot my camera and wanted to only do that for 30 minutes while the cars whizzed by.
Well, I am off to do nothing for the day. Pay day is tomorrow and I will be surfing the website to see what other “weapon” I can had to my “arsenal”.
