  • Ilyich's Little Park

    shared by abbsound on 2016-11-11

(«The calling leader» - The monument was erected in 1925 at the expense of workers in factories. Author of the monument Alekseev G.D.) The first monument to Lenin in Reutov city is located now in the same place where it was installed back in 1925 - in the square in front of the former barracks of the second (str Victory, 7). A plaque on the plinth reads that the monument was installed at the expense of the workers of the factory. While the monument was one of the main symbols of the Soviet era, the most monumental of them. The sculpture is installed in such a way that it seemed that it indicates the right hand side of the entrance of the factory, which is located two hundred meters from the monument. Today, ironically monument points to the newly built Holy Trinity Church, built near the site of the small churches, just closed during the construction of the monument. For a long time before the image of Lenin tried not to build. Just peacefully growing a beautiful shaded square, planted around the same time. To make life a little bit more 'radiant' in Pripyat, the trabant city of chernobyl, the authorities were about to open a new amusement fair. Wir scotters, ferris wheel and everything. Unfortunately just days before the grand opening a nuclear desaster accoured at reactor no.4. Pripyat was abandonded and the ferris wheel never turned. It is quite a testament of desolation....

On the 1st of May with the first light, all students run into the North Sea to wash away their academic sins. It is believed that this will bring them luck during their May exams. As the dawn is usually before or around 5 a.m., most students stay awake whole night celebrating on the beach with bonfires and booze, as it's Scotland and both the sea and the sand are terribly cold. Half of the town population is usually ill the week after.

    shared by abbsound on 2016-10-10

The sculpture «Citizens» from different eras is a sculptural composition installed on the street Kropotkin in Dmitrov, the Moscow region, in 2003. The project was made by sculptor A. Karaulov in tandem with the architect G. Gulyaev. The composition consists of the figure of the inhabitants of the city of Dmitrov, of different classes and eras. The sculpture was very colorful and have their characteristics. Here you can find a figure of «Teacher», «the wanderer», «Woman», «Young noblemen», «Merchant's Wife and the merchant». The authors turned to the history of ancient Russian cities with place names and this has created generalized, at the same time iconic characters in the episodes of the life of one of the Central streets, which in the past in its length is called Noble, Million, Poles.
