I love extended exposures. And when its raining, night, and there are cars going by, I shoot a few shots of the view I've had for over 25 years. These two are both using MX, one is 2 times, one is 3 times Bulb. Both held against the glass front door to steady the camera.

View of the monument to Komsomol of Ural (in the foreground) and the Church «Savior on Blood» (in the background). The hill and the square on its top are called Voznesensky in honor of the Temple of the Ascension of the Lord on it (not visible from the viewpoint of the photo) - the oldest surviving in the city. This square had different contradictory names - first Voznesenskaya, under Soviet power - Komsomolskaya, and from 1919 it was called the Square of People's Vengeance - in memory of the execution of the royal family near this place. But now only the monument to the Komsomol of the Urals has remained from the communist component in the square, and the name Voznesenskaya has been returned. A crowded area will not name - it is used mainly for passage. It offers a good view of the Church «Savior on Blood» (built on the site of rasstrela by the Bolsheviks of the family of Emperor) and the city as a whole.

A monument to the hero of the Soviet Union, the army general, the commander of the airborne troops (VDV), Vasily Margelov, in Yekaterinburg. The memorial complex is a composition consisting of a bronze sculpture by Vasily Filippovich Margelov, a full-length height of 2.2 meters, a pedestal 2.5 meters in height and a granite platform for 18 bronze tablets with the names of operating divisions and airborne brigades. The clothes of the Hero of the Soviet Union, sculptor Alexander Kokoteev, recreated exactly in archival photographs. The monument was made on the initiative and at the expense of the chairman of the Sverdlovsk regional organization "Union of Russian Airborne Troops" Yevgeny Teterin. Vasily Filippovich Margelov is a Soviet military leader, commander of the Airborne Forces in 1954-1959 and 1961-1979, army general, Hero of the Soviet Union, candidate of military sciences. He has many state awards, including two Orders of the Patriotic War of the first degree, as well as awards of foreign states (Bulgaria, Hungary, Germany, China). It is located on the square of the Soviet Army in the square of Lunacharskogo streets - Pervomaiskaya - Mamina-Sibiryaka - Shartashskaya. The idea of creation: Sverdlovsk regional branch of the Russian Union of Afghan Veterans (RSO RSVA) Sculptor: Konstantin Grunberg The author of the second part of the monument: Andrei Serov. The artistic idea of the monument is the stylized space of a cargo military transport aircraft carrying the bodies of dead soldiers and officers to their homeland. These planes were called "black tulips" by the "Afghans" themselves. In the center of the composition is the figure of a seated soldier with an automatic rifle around which the metal pylons imitating the skeleton of the aircraft fuselage are named with the names of the Uralians who died during the fighting in Afghanistan. The monument is made of metal with a special coating. The weight of the central figure of the monument is 4.5 tons, the height is 4.7 meters. The height of the pylons is 10 meters. On ten pylons of the monument are 240 surnames of Sverdlov residents who died in Afghanistan. Later, after the end of the active stage of the counter-terrorist operation in Chechnya, in 2002 this ensemble was supplemented with granite steles with the names of servicemen who died in the Chechen Republic and Dagestan.

Built in the years 1840-1844 by the architect E. H. Sartorius, it has the status of historical and architectural monument of federal importance, is at the Malyshev Street. The bridge is laid out from rubble limestone and granite. For durability, the masonry of all bearings, including metal piles, and two powerful stone bull support semicircular arches in the riverbed. The architectural design of the bridge was completed in 1841: at the ends 4 installed stone pillars, obelisks and fencing made of iron forged lattice with 17 stone pedestals. In the 1950s, with the start-up trolley on Malyshev Street was reconstructed and covered with asphalt roadway pavement and bridge replaced the lattice. But on the whole face of the bridge has not changed its forms and perfectly complements the ensemble of the Historic Square in the city center.
