Show us how grains and blurs can create visually pleasing photographs!
As analogue photographers, we've learned to embrace and love the imperfections that go with shooting on film. Whether intentional or not, sometimes these unexpected effects result in even more eye-catching images. For this LomoMission, we invite you to let go of perfection and welcome visible film noise and blur into your photographs. Here are some ideas to get you started:
- Try shooting with a low ISO film (like the Fantome Kino Film ISO 8 or Babylon Kino ISO 13) on a cloudy or overcast day. Conversely, shooting with a fast film on a sunny day can make those film grains pop.
- Pay attention to shapes, colors, and textures and deliberately blur them to create dreamlike effects.
Submit the photos that incorporate grains and blurs for a chance to win a 10% discount code for our Online Shop! Each participant can submit up to 10 photographs shot on film. This competition will run until August 15, 2021. Good luck!
