Celebrating New Year

From watching grandiose fireworks display to performing symbolic dances, showcase how various culture welcome the arrival of a brand new year.

Different countries have their own unique ways of celebrating New Year. In Philippines, it's customary to scatter coin around one's house to invite good luck and fortune. While in Austria, people melt objects made from lead or tin which is then dropped into a bowl of water as a means of predicting the year ahead. Does your locality have any fascinating New Year tradition? Do share them through your photographs!

Each participant can submit up to 10 photographs. This competition, which serves as the qualifying round for the Breaking Boundaries category, is open to all.
