Lomography Awards: Monochrome: Neon Nights

Neon Nights

Those neon lights are begging to be photographed... in monochrome.

For your next nighttime photo walk, consider seeing the world in black and white. While its tempting to photograph the flashing carnival lights, neon signs, and bustling traffic in their full, colorful glory, it's time for the realm of patterns and shapes to rule the night. Without the nuance of color, show us the brilliant beauty of the city after light. Focus on the snake-like pattern that the cars make as they move through the freeway or the geometry of the semi-lighted building where you work. A pro tip: A tripod might come in handy for those long exposure shots.

Each user can submit up to 10 photographs. This competition, which serves as the qualifying round for "Monochrome" award, is open to all.
