Transfiguration Cathedral in Uglich

Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral — the Cathedral city of Uglich located on the Volga river in Uglich Kremlin.
Founding date not later 1249 (excavation - 1st floor. XI.)
According to legend, in 991 Rostov Prince Boris the Holy Ghost was built a wooden Church of Constantine and Helena Church, which became the predecessor of the Cathedral. The Transfiguration Cathedral was first mentioned in 1249. In 1485-1487 Uglich Prince Andrey built a Large brick four-column single-domed Cathedral, which survived until 1700.
