    As a TLR fan in general and fanatic Lubitel 2 owner, I have been lusting after this old East German TLR camera for quite some time, with its sexy upmarket leatherette-and-steel cosmetics. Having finally obtained a copy, I have found it to be a highly underrated and effective piece of equipment.

    There is a certain mystery lingering around films that are out of production. Double that aura of being uknown, when the place of its origin is already gone. The perfect example is ORWO, the film monopolist in the deceased GDR.

    The former "DDR" or "GDR" (German Democratic Republic, that means East Germany from 1949 to 1990) had a very important camera industry and produced some really great cameras; One of those is the Ihagee Exa 1a, a beautiful bulky SLR with top viewfinder. Let me introduce this little gem! :)
