Almost every time I travel to a beach I do this to do sports: I play Beach Ultimate. - Ultimate Frisbee played on the beach. Last year in August I played at the World Championships of Beach Ultimate in Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy. Read on how hard it is to run in the sun when everyone else on the beach is looking for shadow.

Freedom Square - Kharkiv - The Biggest Parade Ground in Europe
written by wil6ka on 2009-01-27 #placesAlright I will come out with the outstanding trademark of this landmark right now: It is is the largest parade ground in all Europe - big tush - even bigger tush. Well, this said we have to say of course that parade grounds are not so spectacular in most places of the world, but in the former Soviet Union averything militaristic had a certain sex-appeal. And of course the freedom square is adorned with massive Lenin. One icon of the past, who still feels the force of the future. And Lenin reamins the dominant figure of the square, overlooking it and having a daily market in his very back.

Baseball in Korea
written by wil6ka on 2008-08-21 #placesThere would be few sports you would name particularly Asian, maybe chess but hey this is not a sport. Obviously the creation of the most famous sports is historically a thing for Europeans and Americans. But the funny thing is, many Asian sportsmen are nowadays some of the worlds finest. Just think of Rugby and Cricket, which was brought to India and Australia while they were colonies. Another good example is baseball in Japan and especially to South Korea. In Korea it was established in 1905 and gained more and more momentum with the American troops during the Korean War in the 40ies.
