You spend your holidays at the beach? Enjoy and bathe in the sun and then refresh yourself in the water? Well, that´s what most people do on the beach. Not me. Almost every time I travel to a beach I do this to do sports: I play Beach Ultimate. - Ultimate Frisbee played on the beach. Last year in August I played at the World Championships of Beach Ultimate in Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy. Read on how hard it is to run in the sun when everyone else on the beach is looking for shadow.

Barcelona was a city I really wanted to visit as unlike many of Europe's big city break destinations, it has the advantage of having a huge length of beach to the south east of the city. We enjoyed spending some time relaxing here in between a lot of hectic sightseeing.

Montgat is an amazing beach that’s really close to Barcelona and the best thing is, it’s never as crowded as the beaches inside the city. In January, it becomes a great location to take your dog on a fun filled-action packed day!

Six days, two packs of Instax Mini film and one Fuji Cheki 50 camera to capture a glimpse of what this amazingly wonderful and beautiful city has to offer. From the train ride into the city to a stroll down La Rambla to the beautiful waterfront, and of course, seeing plenty of Gaudi’s works of art throughout the city!

Tossa de Marr is located in the province of Gerona, Cataluña, 103 kms away from Barcelona. It is part of the region known as Selva, which stands in the Costa Brava. According to INE (National Institute of Stadistics), in 2008 had 5.854 inhabitants.

The beach of Sant Miquel just at the end of the area of Barceloneta (and often called Barceloneta Beach), is one of the famous beaches of Barcelona. Sure, many tourists are going to this beach in the summer, and in the middle of the afternoon it's really full and difficult to find a place... But if you go there early in the morning (8.00 am or after 7.00 pm) or in the late afternoon, you'll have the beach almost for you alone :).

I was lucky enough to sneak a cheeky trip to Barcelona onto the end of my 2011. I had never been there before and thought that it was a wonderful place to photograph. Plus with the glorious sunshine that we were lucky enough to experience, we consider it as a huge bonus!

Although I am usually more likely to take a trip to Eastern Europe, if you are looking for somewhere warm to take a Christmastime vacation, then I recommend Barcelona for sun, beaches, and palm trees galore.

Cool areas of Barcelona, starting on The Born, then Estacio de França and ending in the relaxing Parc de la Ciutadella.

I like Spain. The people range from muy freaky to muy gentil and it is always a joy talking to them. Additionally they have rather my height than the ones from the Teutonian tribe, which makes it much easier to integrate for me, too. And the country has some exceptional beautiful spots offside the normal touristic routes - off the record. Quite a while ago I have been to Tossa de Mar, which lays a one and a half hour cardrive away from Barcelona.
