Zheleznica's fields and slopes in Infrared
Rollei IR400, shot with an IR720 (720nm) filter. I am generally pleased by the result, but could be better - especially that strong vignetting in one of the corners.
Taken by adash with a Pentax MZ-30 loaded with rollei IR400 film in Zheleznitsa, Bulgaria. Is it usual bw film or IR film? Are the price more expensive than Efke IR bw film?
adash
@hervinsyah It is an IR film - Rollei Infrared 400. I guess it is cheaper than EFKE, but with less Aura effect. It is probably faster too, all of the photos being taken handleld. You need to use an IR-pass filter (720nm for the effect above) and take into account the light loss after the filter. In the case of a TTL (trough the lens) metering camera, the camera should take that into account by itself. If you're using an external lightmeter, then you need to adjust the film sensibility for the resultant exposure - about five stops for this case. I.e. set your external lightmeter for 12 or 6ASA instead of 400.

Thanks for the info. I'm still considering to buy IR film or no. It's look like very difficult to use, and trial & error person like me will cause lot of wasting money cause I think I'll failed at the first attempt. Thanks once again

@hervinsyah This is my first attempt actually. Rollei film is relatively cheap, and there is a seller from Thailand who sells Infrared 400 on evilbay. I think you're going to be more sorry, if you don't try it.

WOWWWWW, GREAT DEBUT. THE WHITE TREE IN BLACK SKY MAKE THIS PHOTO LOOK LIKE ANSEL ADAM'S. You're absolutely right, I'm in dillema of wasting money and regret not try the best film in the world =D Ok, I'll search on evilbay. Actually there's Indonesian film seller who also sold Konica Infra Red color film (have you heard this film?) expired for Rp 100,000 ($ 10) each. Maybe I'll try it. Thanks twice again ^_^

@hervinsyah No idea, check the Internet for that film. I can only give recommendations for what I have tried. Anyway, you need an IR filter in order to block visible light and let only IR reach the filter, and you need to increase the exposure accordingly. The details depend on the filter and on the film used.

@hervinsyah let only IR reach the FILM I mean.
