Death Valley, 53°C. Day 4 of the trip. Also, Independence Day. At night at the campsite, our two tour guides told us to put on bathing suits, take a towel and a torch and get into the car. That was all the information we got. They drove us to a dark and deserted place in the middle of nowhere and walked us to some random hot springs. We went into the springs. Above us were a million stars and no light pollution whatsoever. Then, all of a sudden there were fireworks: Our tour guides' contribution to the 4th of July. This trip wasn't officially part of the programme but it was one of the nicest memories I have. Also, it made me tip the guides. This photo was shot on film.
