A road trip through some of the small towns along the Connecticut River--Essex, Deep River, Haddam, Old Saybrook--where almost everything was closed for the day (Sunday) and we ran into some random Groundhog Day parade to finally end up eating dinner at the oddest, most eclectic, Mexican restaurant ever, whose menu featured Cajun Gumbo, Jambalaya and other Cajun and Creole dishes as well as the usual Mexican food.
