From the hotel in Iloilo City we travelled an hour to Maasin - the site and host of the Visayan leg of Tunogtugan Festival. We went straight to the house of the Mayor to have lunch first before heading straight to the municipal auditorium to rehearse the opening ceremony and concert. While lunch was being prepared, the Mayor toured us around the bamboo stick factory he owns and operates within the compound of his vacation house. Outside there were lots of long bamboo sticks being dried under the sweltering heat of the sun. Took these shots minutes before the buffet was ready.
