Haven't gotten a chance to use my lovely Horizon in a while, so I took it with my to church camp and around Waikiki :) Love the results, except for the strange blue lines that go across some of the photos...anyone know what that's from?

cool shot! the blue line is a scratch... the film has a strong pressure when loaded in the Horizon, so a very little thing inside can provoke such regular line scratches... just have a look inside the camera to clean it a bit with a "dust blower" (?)

sorry, by seing other shots I just noticed it's redscale film, and it is common to see some blue lines/marks on redscale film. The trick to avoid them is to scan the picture/film with a larger black area, even if your pics will turn darker, but with deeper red and orange colors

but I think the origin of the blue line is still a scratch, from inside the cam or inside the film cartridge...

@vicuna I don't see anything inside the camera that would make those scratches. Hopefully it was just the canister! And I will try the trick with scanning next time, thanks :)

The blue lines are most likely dirty registration zone on your scanner. Make sure the glass is clean, especially at the "top" where the scanning starts. A flat bed scanner will use that area to calibrate the rest of the picture. Little bits of dirt will throw off the scanner and cause it to be out of calibration for the entire length of the scan thereby causing long streaks even if the negative has no scratches.
