After doing costume photo-op and attending a painting workshop at the Seoul Tourism Organization's satellite office at Myeongdong, fangcarpenter and I decided to stay and wait for the night to fall on this bustling commercial district. We were surprised to see huge volumes of shoppers and tourists walking along the major street and in and out of the many shops with colorful and attractive window displays. There were some stalls for street foods which we excitingly tried. I loved the grilled sausages like the ones served at our hotel during breakfast. The other ones with what I thought could be sticky rice inside were an acquired taste. Nevertheless, they were all yummy and tummy-filling. Saw two young guys holding plackards saying free hugs in English and Korean. And as a good foreigner would do, fangcarpenter availed of a warm hug from the cuter one of the two. LOL! The lights from all the shops never seemed to falter as well as voices of shop staff enticing shoppers to drop and hopefully buy some items. Even saw a guy in full cat suit advertising a cafe. Myeongdong seems more alive at night than during the day.
